Just for fun, I just ran jack as two different users on this machine. Both
using the dummy interface. Used a meter and zyn and hooked them up though
jack as each user. The meter saw zyn's output in each case.

I had an odd thought so I just re-did the test using vnc to the other user
so that I could see both meters and zyn keyboards at once.

User 1's zyn only sent sound to user 1's meter. user 2's zyn only sent
sound to user s's meter.

I think you can run two different instances of jack as two different users
using two different sound cards and be fine. I will have to test that some
more. (I may have done this in the past, I don't recall at this moment.)

I used qjackctl for each user in all instances.

Before I went the vnc route, I tried ssh -X otheruser@localhost but that
wanted to use main user's qjackctl.

all the best,

drew
