Weird.

Do you have an intro-file configured for the shoutcast-server in another samplerate? I know this would mess up the stream after intro has played, atleast on earlier versions of shoutcast.

I was able to reproduce your problem here. After streaming aac+ 64kbps on jack in 48kHz, stopping everything, switching jack to run 44.1kHz and restart jack and b.u.t.t, it sounds pitched up. Strangely enough, when I stopped encoding, switched to opus and back to aac+, it fixed it. I did these steps to get it to work (running jack at 44.1 with pitched up music):

 * Stopped encoding
 * Switched to opus
 * Started and stopped encoding
 * Switched back to AAC+
 * Started and stopped encoding
 * quit b.u.t.t and restarted it
 * Started encoding AAC+

This fixed it for me. It's like b.u.t.t doesn't reset the samplerate after restart and/or encoding. I don't know what to make of it, but it did fix it here. Strange.

Yes, I have system:capture going through Stereotool for processing, if I route Stereotool:fm_out to system:playback it sounds fine.

    I think it sounds like b.u.t.t is sending the audio to the
    stream-server in 48kHz samplerate without resampling from 44.1kHz
    if the audio sounds fine everywhere else. Does the audio that
    jack-server receives from line in sound fine on the streaming
    machine? try monitoring the system:capture_* with an audio-program.

        I'm still fighting my shoutcast stream problems. I've migrated
        the Rivendell stuff on to a 2nd computer, run its output
        through a little mixer, took the output of the mixer and fed
        it into the line in on my stream computer running Jack at 44.1
        kHz, Stereotool and butt at 64kbps aacplus to shoutcast.com
        <http://shoutcast.com>. When I playback my stream on anything,
        the audio is about 9-10% high in pitch and vlc reports that
        the stream samplerate is 48 kHz. I've reported this to the
        butt developer but he hasn't responded to any emails. I'd like
        to find something that works, I've tried darkice, liquidsoap,
        and goalscoder, none will connect to shoutcast, they report an
        invalid password error.
