In fact, it's a good thing for the machine to be using close to ALL of the RAM ! Now, if it's swapping excessively, then it is short of RAM, but at 4G I'd find that difficult to believe. More likely, you have a failing power supply, ( that's what I would try first ) or a failing motherboard.
