Dear Fred, I happened to mention this bug to John Anderson recently as well. I only recently upgraded from 2.14.1 to 2.16.0 at the end of June. I confirm Keith’s bug on my machine.
If you add the YEAR as part of your mass edit, you won’t see the omission(s).
