Thanks for your help Steve. I have other USB audio devices I can try problem is the one I've got to use is the USB interface to my console, 32 in 32 out. If I can't get that interface to work that I'm going to have to stay with Ubuntu. As I said earlier it worked straight out of the box with the Ubuntu
