One button: "Open log for editing" Another button: "Open log for viewing" with the following logic: User clicks "Open log for viewing" button and the log is opened read only. User clicks "Open log for editing" button and the system first checks to see if that log is already opened for editing. If not: Log is opened for editing. If so: A popup informs the user and offers to open the log read only or to quit.
