There is no simple setting that will do this. One could, I suppose, write an
RLM plug-in that would do it.

the early 2000’s:

Basically, ‘an essay in the craft ere it was full blown’. That was designed
precisely to copy the behavior of a 360 Systems ‘Instant Replay’ unit, which
works (worked?) the way you describe.
