Moving this [1] discussion to the list as the more appropriate venue. So we are looking at Rivendell as a replacement for SAM Broadcaster. I suspect it will be six to twelve months before we switch since we have a lot of custom rotation logic which will need to be ported over. Currently we use mostly stored procedures to handle rotation along with some "delphi" scripting inside SAM.
All of that to establish a bit of context. I'm thinking that if 3.x is near beta, we'll be fine using it for testing purposes for the next months. That may also give us the opportunity to feedback during the beta cycle. Baring any screaming red flags, I think we'll move that direction rather than roll back to Qt3 and friends.
