Clearly we need some instructions for compiling on Debian systems. If anyone has them, maybe we can add them to the master branch.
I think in this case it’s because your non-root user path doesn’t have /sbin or /usr/sbin in it. As root you can “which runuser” and see where it’s at. Add the directory that contains runuser to your path and you’ll be golden (at least for configure).
