Also quite possible that the vector was through a M$ system attached to a 
Rivendell host via a CIFS share. This is one of the primary reasons that 
‘/var/snd’ should *never* be shared RW via CIFS, and is read-only to all 
Rivendell users except ‘root’ and the dedicated ‘rivendell’ system account.

Watertight subdivisions, just like on all modern oceangoing vessels...
