Sounds like as good a work-around as any. Unfortunately, the ‘alsa-firmware’
package includes firmware for an incompatible version of the AudioScience
driver that ships as part of ALSA, thus the two packages conflict.
The other approach would be to build Rivendell from source with the
AudioScience support disabled. Unfortunately, neither approach is ideal.
