Hi all,

I recently install nload, to check the network use for some clients that
are on VPN.
And I noticed something strange.
nload also monitors the localhost loopback.
If I open any of the rivendell programs ie. rdairplay, rdpanel, rdlogedit,
etc. I see the bandwidth used by the loopback (localhost) rise to about
2.5Mbit/s.
This is while the program is in idle state, thus no activity.
If I open 2 programs the traffic will rise to 5Mbit/s, with 3 to 7.5 Mbit/s
and so on.
I was just wondering what communication this ? Is it the software talking
to the deamons (caed/ripcd) ?

An other side note, i monitored the communication with the remote MariaDB
(over ppp0), it will never go above 250kbit/s, although I have a 20Mbit/s
connection. I find the rather odd. When I sync my /var/snd via rsync, the
bandwidth will be fully used. The only thing that could explain the low
bandwidth to the database could be due to latency (23ms). or am I seeing
this wrong ?

Regards
Peter
