Hi, Some general notes, sparked by some recent threads:
* When replying to a comment in Jira, it's best to do that by commenting in Jira instead of replying to the email notification. Keeping all comments in Jira helps people who review the issue later. However, if a Jira comment sparks a more general response that doesn't fit within the scope of the original issue, then it's best to reply to it on river-...@. Just change the subject line to something like "generic topic (Was: [jira] Commented: ...)" to keep the threads separate. * When replying to an svn commit notification, keep the subject line as is only when you have specific comments about the actual code committed. If it's about something more generic, change the subject line to something like "generic topic (Was: svn commit: ...)". A good example is the recent r769903 thread. I replied with specific comments about the change Tom made, but then the thread went off to discuss testing in general. Following these guidelines will make the issue database and the list archives more valuable as all the comments in them will be properly scoped and labeled. BR, Jukka Zitting
