But this "stuff" will not be part of any river release, so i propose
to document the revision this all was based on, in a file in the qa
dir, and then delete that part from the SVN.

at a test failure I like to know the development history of the test, as
well as the code under test.

All history is preserved in SVN. just use the -r option to get a specific revision back.
