I never actually understood what was happening. Can you explain a little more thoroughly?

I did some hacking to get around that, if that were a problem, but I'm
also seeing something else on one of my servers:

Wierd, and not good:-/


... although perhaps it was related to the first problem?  I replaced
mod_rivet.so on the server with the hacked version (hacks are now in
SVN), and so far, so good - no core dumps overnight.
