Please scroll down if you do not have the time or expertise to verify this
issue thankyou.

I have permission from unSpawn to raise one question about the gpg key for the
tarball.

I am not an expert in this area. For those who have already validated the
tarball could one of you verify this please.

1) simple way is
gpg --keyserver keyserver.rutgers.edu --search 0x26447505

gpg --verify rkhunter-1.3.2.tar.gz.asc.txt rkhunter-1.3.2.tar.gz

and there should be no errors this way.

2) I had keyserver fail for me. So I tried a different way. I am not suggesting
you try this way unless you have issues with (1)....and feel free to do it the
correct way as you are the gpg expert.

gpg --list-packets rkhunter-1.3.2.tar.gz.asc.txt

gpg --recv-keys C2B0898226447505

gpg --verify rkhunter-1.3.2.tar.gz.asc.txt rkhunter-1.3.2.tar.gz

Naturally those files can be found in my pathway.

3) I do not want to pre-empt what you get, but mention to save time, (the
reason for my question)

gpg: WARNING: signing subkey 26447505 is not cross-certified
gpg: Can't check signature: general error

4) If you can gpg verify tarball I am happy with that. I would be even more
happier with knowing what I am doing wrong please.

If you have the time to reply you only need to mention that you were able to
validate the correct way.

If you have time, email me with your suggestions if you feel it is better not
to discuss my problems of gpg off mail list.

my email is

I am happy either way with your feedback as I already admit to be a newbie in
this area.

If you feel it is better to reply more fully on mail list that is also fine by
me. Maybe others will find your tips insightful.

Be as blunt as you like as I am an aussie and am used to that way.
