Hello All,

I have just upgraded from Fedora 13 to F15 and have implemented the same
version of RKH as I was running on the old F13 machine a few days ago.

On running RKH I get:
Warning: The command '/usr/local/bin/rkhunter' has been replaced and is not a
script: /usr/local/bin/rkhunter: POSIX shell script, ASCII text executable,
with very long lines

A little bit of googling seemed to suggest that this problem had
occurred before and seems to be related to a change in the "file"
program. Unfortunately there didn't seem to be any resolution in the
mail archive that I was looking at.

I don't know what version of file I had on F13, but on this shiney new
F15 install I have:
# file --version
file-5.07
magic file from /usr/share/misc/magic

When I run it on rkhunter I get:
# file /usr/local/bin/rkhunter
/usr/local/bin/rkhunter: POSIX shell script, ASCII text executable, with very
long lines

Clearly the origin of the message in the RKH logs.

Is there now a solution to this?

Thanks in advance...

Mark
