Thanks for your reply. I'm not sure I understand your instructions to use 'yum update' after a new version appears in epel repo. How will I know when it appears? Research tells me that Centos 6.5 is the same as Fedora, is that correct? Please forgive me as I am relatively new to server management and haven't got a firm grasp on ssh commands as of yet, however I am learning with the help of google and a very helpful IT guy. Most of my research shows how to install rkhunter but not how to just upgrade it. Can rkhunter be upgraded to a newer version without loosing previous configuration settings or does it have to be re-installed from scratch?

Sorry for my ignorance but I was wondering where I could find some upgrade instructions for rkhunter? I usually get someone else to do this for me however he is unable to do it anymore so I have to learn myself. I need to upgrade my previous version 1.4.0 to 1.4.2 on to my CENTOS 6.5 i686 dedicated server. I've tried to google for them but not finding anything that explains it. Nothing on the sourceforge site that I can find either.

Wait until a new version appears in epel repo and then 'yum update' will update
it.
