..I think it's a cPanel issue:

on a standard CentOS server:

~# ls -l /bin/ping
-rwsr-xr-x 1 root root 40760 Sep 26  2013 /bin/ping

on a WHM server:

# ls -l /bin/ping
-rwxr-xr-x. 1 root root 40760 Sep 26  2013 /bin/ping*

so I think the correct solution will be whitelisting those file. Right?
