Unlikely, vim knows all about line endings.  But you can use it to
insert control characters like '\r' if you really try. :/

Fair enough, but fromdos won't do any harm.  If there are no DOS-style
line endings in a text file it won't do anything.  Don't be tempted to
use it on other types of file!
