yes, this looks kind of similar to the new "plugintests" make target. if you'd 
like to help improving automatic functionality tests, you could try to write 
some of the yet missing test suites, as is explained here:

don't be alarmed because it looks like a lot of text ;-) it's actually fairly 
easy. if you follow the instructions in section "writing a test", you can 
almost klick a test together.

this will not only keep the R engine quite busy, but also check the dialogs of 
rkward for desired behaviour.
