I found rkward.bin and rkward.rbackend at /usr/local/bin (dated from 2011/01/24) and several files below /usr/lib64/R/library/. After deleting all that stuff and recompiling with your recommended setting "-DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr" rkward runs like a charm (Version 0.5.5.z+0.5.6+test1). Thanks a lot, Thomas!
