In case this helps: just tried and could not confirm, latest build was
not crashing immediately, but I did not test further

Sigh... Ok, I've reverted the last two commits, so this should be fixed in the
next daily. Until then, you can edit /usr/bin/rkward in a text editor.
Removing lines 52-59 (those that try to set KDEDIRS) should probably fix the
issue.
