hi,

i've been on some trains again... as suggested by burfee earlier, i tried to
write GUI dialogs for most of
 o http://statmethods.net/advstats/cluster.html
it's not complete (only used base and mclust functions), but still the most
important features should be available now:
 o http://rkward.sourceforge.net/R/pckg/rk.ClusterAnalysis/index.html

you need RKWard 0.5.7, where you can easily install the plugin via the R
package management dialog ("rk.ClusterAnalysis"). after installation, you
should find "Cluster analysis" sub menus in "Analysis" and "Plots". note that
i put the usual plot functions in the "Analysis" dialogs at the moment, as
this seemed to me to be the most comfortable workflow (especially using the
preview feature). in the "Plots" menu is a graphical tool to determine the
number of clusters to extract. adding to the k-means WSS method described on
the Quick-R page, i also tried to implement a quite configurable inverse Scree
plot -- i hope i got that one right!

so, please check it out! (see e.g. ?kmeans for sample data in the examples)

being that this is the result of two train rides, there's surely need for
improvements and bug-fixing. btw., the plugin was (of course ;-)) developed
with the rkwarddev package, and as usual you can find the very build script in
the installed plugin location, if you want to change things:
 $YOUR_R_PACKAGES/rk.ClusterAnalysis/rkward/rkwarddev_CA_plugin_script.R
