hi,

i'm currently trying to implement automatic debian package creation as an
additional feature of roxyPackage[*]. more importantly, there's already
services like cran2deb or c2d4u (for ubuntu):
 o http://debian.cran.r-project.org                  (currently down?)
 o https://launchpad.net/~marutter/+archive/c2d4u

these services provide debian packages for most of the R packages available
from CRAN. i think it would be great if RKWard was able to prefer available
debian packages over R source packages, when it's running on a debian based
system. this would spare me the manual checks i'm doing from time to time (i
prefer to leave as much as possible to the debian package management).

not sure if this could be implemented as a plugin, or if it would make more
sense to first come up with an R package for this (with an extended
install.packages() that also checks debian package archives?). i'm just
throwing this in here, maybe you have some comments ;-)
