well, most other KDE apps don't need a wrapper script. In the mid term, RKWard 
will probably do without one, too(*).

Actually, there is a somewhat experimental .exe-wrapper for windows 
(KDE\bin\rkward.exe), which may or may not become the default startup method 
for 0.6.2.

(*): This is a relict of the old times, when rkward did not run the backend in 
a separate process. Therefore, the whole app had to be run through "R CMD". 
Nowadays, this should only be needed for the backend process. However to get 
there, some (small) problems still need to be solved, such as where to store 
the configured R process, error handling, setting up some environment 
variables...
