Hi,
AMD K6-2-550, 256 MB, SCSI CDRW, ATAPI CDROM, 3 HDDs (13.5 IBM, 20.5 Maxtor,
2.5 WD), Matrox G400 w/ 32 MB, SB Live!

Just downloaded and installed build 35 and have some problems.
Number 1: RL did not identify my ethernet card (SMC Ultra) properly (it's
got it at 0x200 and it's at 0x250, at least it is when I'm booted into
Caldera eD2.4). This is a problem I had with Caldera's Sybil beta that was
fixed when I enable PnP in my BIOS. With RL, that has had no effect. The
ethernet card works fine under Caldera's eDesktop 2.4 and, IIRC, worked on a
previous beta of RL. I figgered I could remove it and re-add it and fix the
problem, but I can't figger out how to add an ethernet card after rmoving it.

Number 2: RL installed Xfree86 3.3.6. I have 4.0.3 on my Caldera installation
and Mandrake 8.0 installed 4.0.3. I was really hoping that RL would install
4.1.0. How do I get it to install 4.1.0?

A couple of bugs:
When I moved the mouse around during Lizard (when just the "X" is the mouse
pointer), the mouse was not identified properly.
I could still navigate the screens by press <Tab> and <Space>. However, when
I <Tab>'d to the mouse selection and pressed the <Down> arrow, Lizard
crashed. When I <Tab>'d to the mouse selection and pressed <Space> then
<Down>, it worked.
Once I got passed the mouse problem, the installed crapped out on me, anyway.
I got an error message that not all packages could be installed and the
installer stopped at 49%.
My next attempt at install seemed to work out OK. I waited until the mouse
pointer was an arrow before moving it and the mouse got identified correctly.
The install appeared to go smoothly from then on (execpt for the X problem
and the ethernet card problem ;-) )

Oh, one more thing. It does not appear that testing screen resolutions during
install works.

Insight into fixing my ethernet and/or X problems is welcome.

Regards,
Tim Wunder

(Sure wish it had "normal" program names on the KDE menu)

BTW, anybody know where I should send the hwinfo.txt file?
