we use amd, a user-space daemon that accomplishes the same thing.
removable media is automatically mounted at /auto/floppy or
/auto/cdrom.  if you insert a cdrom while in the gui, it will autorun
using an autorun.sh script, and pop up a listing of it's contents in a
window as soon as you insert it.
