I don't really care for Mozilla. Comparing Mozilla to the Netscape mail I use on Libranet, I like Netscape Mail a lot better. For one thing Netscape has a spell checker built in. Another thing is that Mozilla has a halting jerky performance. I don't think RL has speed performance that is equal to Libranet. Libranet is very quick whereas RL is compartively slower. This is on the same machine, as I have multiple removable hard drives. I think one of the reasons for the slowness is the software RL has chosen for it's distribution. KDE is a slow pig compared to ICE, and Mozilla isn't helping the situation as it seems clumsy too. Any ideas on how to speed RL up? Don't get me wrong, RL developers have done a very good job, butit's pretty obvious to me that the limited software choice doesn't cut it for me. It may just be a matter of downloading the programs I like, but so far I haven't tried to do it, plus you have to consider that Debian has "apt-get" Tested stable software is only a word and a <ENTER> away. If RL developers can do something like "apt-get, I think RL will be a good thing. Otherwise it looks like Libranet may still be the wisest choice for people interested in a good user friendly Linux desktop.
