Sounds like a defective install disk.  Do you have another copy?  Use the
checksum file to verify integrity.

I ran into the following problem while trying to install Redmond Linux. I
ran the standard installation, and the computer locked up just after it did
the hardware scan and just before the Welcome screen. the monitor went
entire blank and there was no harddrive or CD-ROM activity at all.

I re-tried the installation using the Safe-Mode install, and it got to the
Welcome creen okay, but then locked up. I could not use the mouse and
attempted to the keyboard (USB) and there was no response whatsoever.

Any suggestions?
