that card might be supported by the kernel. try to modprobe 8139too (and there's an older one to try too: 8139cp). or try to put: alias eth0 8139too in your /etc/modules.conf file. You might could set it up with netconf (I hope it's included). If that don't do it for you, what did you download exactly? if it was a tarball, how about the ls of the directory? -s - -- rl-users list.
