Eu totdeauna il restaurez cu grub-install /dev/cutare, insa cind booteaza ii mai dau eu inca odata linia aia cu setup si-i spun ca grub.conf-ul e in /etc/ si nu default in /boot/grub unde-l cauta il. In rest totul e fara cusur (cred ca m-as scoate mai ieftin daca mi-as symlink-ui /etc/grub.conf prin /boot/grub).
