Initial am vrut sa'l trimit pe humor, apoi pe offtopic, dar m'am razgandit cand am terminat de citit articolul (adica pana acolo unde se termina pagina) ;)
Let me tell you about Grandma and vi. Back in the early days of Ubuntu, I sat Grandma down and explained that in order to really become productive with Linux, you need to learn vi. With the coordination issues that the elderly often face, I explained how learning a few simple shortcuts would not only save time, but would eliminate all those painful mouse issues that plague this generation Once she figured out the mode based editing, the shortcuts to search, copy, cut, paste, she was in vi heaven. The regex thing was just second nature. It was so cool to see a lady in her 90s read the entire Ubuntu Wiki and install the 3D nvidia drivers (for what use I don't know). She did the old sudo and was off in a flash, installing libdvdcss and enabling DMA. She just understood more that I would have ever given her credit for. So after a quick jaunt through the Wiki, and after googling solutions to those issues not anticipated, she was good to go. Now, at this point I could tip my hat and tell you how Granddad preferred emacs for its flexibility, which in turn caused all kinds of marital struggles. http://www.microbabble.com/why-vi.html -- This message was scanned for spam and viruses by BitDefender.
