Developer Relations Engineer – Oil, Gas, Manufacturing
Qualifications/Requirements :
10+ years of experience developing commercial-oriented software products in the
manufacturing and/or oil & gas industry. Excellent in C, C++, Java, and others.
Skilled at performance optimization, debugging and profiling programs.
Deep understanding of computer architecture, the x86 instruction set, and BIOS.
Significant development experience in Linux, Unix, and Windows.
Professionally and diplomatically represents AMD during new and emerging
opportunities in partner labs and in manufacturing and oil & gas industry
customer presentations. Innovative in identifying opportunities to develop
technical partnerships
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to present AMD's
technology and product roadmap in clear, understandable terms to partner
engineers, technical marketing managers and executives
Willing and able to travel 40-60% of the time to locations in the US and
internationally.
Primary Purpose & Key Job Functions :
AMD works closely with leading vendors to ensure that our customers get
solutions meeting their business and technical needs. By doing so, we ensure
that these solutions are optimized for AMD products and technologies. The
Developer Relations Engineer is responsible for working closely with engineers
and management in the manufacturing and oil & gas industry to assist them with
the adoption of our technology. The primary goals for this position include:
Develop and nurture technical relationships with key senior business and
technical personnel in the enablement and integration of AMD technology.
Refine and implement the enablement and development strategy.
Interface with key OEM providers of AMD technology such as HP, IBM STG, and SUN
and incorporate into the enablement and development strategy.
Team with organizations within AMD to ensure that customers in the
manufacturing and/or oil & gas industry are informed of product roadmaps and
they are synchronized with their development schedule.
Represent the manufacturing and/or oil & gas industry product issues and future
needs to AMD development and engineering.
Support the AMD marketing team with technical guidance in the development of
solution offerings to clients.
Write and present white papers, technology roadmaps, and other research work at
industry and sales conferences.
The position will be located in Houston, Texas in the pay range of 120-140k per
year (base). We are looking to fill the position immediately and therefore
prefer someone who is currently authorized to work in the US. If you post this
