Product Research Analyst for SMB – Unix based servers
POSITION SUMMARY
As part of the Product Management team the Product Research Analyst will
be responsible for developing a clear picture of the worldwide
marketplace with focus on products. Supporting internal business
stakeholders, this role is responsible for the analysis of product
information from a variety of sources (internal and external).
The Product Research Analyst collects and analyzes data to evaluate
existing and potential products and services. It is their responsibility
to identify and monitor competitors and research market conditions or
changes in the industry that may affect the business.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Support the product management teams with product and segment
information for use in their planning and decision making
* Provide competitive and technological analysis for corporate
product range (Linux servers)
* Identify, jointly with product managers, specific problems or
areas that may require research support
* Serve as a consultant to internal clients
* Stay abreast of the new developments in research techniques and
methodologies
* Competitive analysis: products, prices, promotions, PR
activities, services
* Identifies competitive advantages and/or disadvantages for
competitors’ products. Highlight issues and opportunities
* Cooperates with internal clients to identify all project
specifications
* Research, analyze and understand the competitive landscape,
market conditions and emerging trends
IMPACT OF THE POSITION ON THE ORGANIZATION
The candidate will combine their knowledge of BitDefender portfolio and
research data to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and
threats. From this information the candidate will create structured
presentations that influence the thinking of senior decision makers.
These activities will require close interaction with several internal
teams and external organizations.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
* Extensive understanding of the software for Linux servers
environment and best practices
* Experience with Linux server administration
* Need strong critical thinking/analytical skills, accuracy and
relentless attention to detail
* Expert ability to use PowerPoint and Excel as frequent
presentations are required
* Team player able to work effectively across an organization
* Ability to multi-task and shift focus to match changing
priorities
* Good command of English language
