Oracle DBA
Job Description
As an Oracle DBA you will be reporting to a Senior Database DBA/Database
Manager and you will be working closely with the other members of
Database Group in Synygy.
The primary focus of your responsibilities will be to assist Synygy's
Oracle DBA's and developers for ensuring environments are running in an
optimal state and to develop and implement standards and procedures for
Synygy's database systems. You will be required to set regular
audits/reviews for each project.
Development of reports/trending analysis pertaining to the health of
each project would be required. Working primarily with other Oracle
DBA's and developers, this person will work within the Database Group
and collaborate closely with the Installation Group within
Infrastructure Organization.
Responsibilities
* Author PL/SQL stored procedures, SQL, scripts for server
monitoring and auditing
* Perform database tuning, performance monitoring and trending analysis
* Establish and review server performance optimization plans
* Perform application tuning and performance monitoring
* Perform general technical troubleshooting and give consultation to
internal and external client project teams
* Provide production support if required
Prerequisites
* Minimum 2 years experience as an Oracle DBA (10g, 11g)
* Ability to perform both Oracle and Windows performance tuning and
monitoring
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Excellent problem solving abilities and attention to detail
* Good OS (Windows 2008) and networking skills preferred
* Experience supporting Oracle as part of a three-tiered
applications environment
* Experience developing Oracle monitoring and maintenance scripts
* Degree in Computer Science (or other technical field) with OCP

Oracle Developer
Job Description
As Oracle Developer for SYNYGY Europa, you will work in our office in
Iasi. You will report to a Senior Database Developer/Database Manager
and work with members of the Software Development groups in US, Romania
and India to design, develop, enhance, test and maintain software
application. This position calls for a well-rounded individual who has
technological aptitude, business sense, a customer-service orientation
and the ability to effectively communicate with java developers, testers
and functional design analysts. All candidates need to have a good grasp
of general business applications and how the database interacts with the
front end.
Responsibilities
* Design and develop database objects and queries
* Maintain database schema/objects within Oracle
* Track versioning to all changes within database schema/objects
* Identify and automate routine maintenance tasks within Oracle
* Write stored procedures/functions and parameterized queries to
support SYNYGY's software;
* Certify all queries written by software developers to ensure
optimal execution of the queries on Oracle database.
* Query optimization and Performance Tuning.
* Research, investigate and evaluate potential database solutions to
business problems/requirements
Prerequisites
* Proficiency in working with Oracle (11g, 10g, 9i)
* Excellent database design skills and a thorough understanding of
Oracle
* Ability to perform light DBA activities for development and
testing teams
* Minimum of 2 years experience in PL/SQL development
* Good knowledge of ODBC, JDBC and Hibernate
* Experience in Java programming is a plus
* Knowledge of SQL Server 2005, 2008 is a plus

Job Description
Product Designers are part of Synygy's Software Design group and are
responsible for participating in product conceptual sessions, defining
the high level design, and working with a team of UI Designers to design
a product consistent with the overall vision of Synygy's suite of
Performance Management products.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities will include:
* participating in and contributing during conceptual brainstorming
sessions
* working with Product Design Managers to translate the product
concepts into a high level design, including high level design
documents, UI sketches, etc.
* communicating the high level design to teams within the Software
Organization
* inspecting and reviewing the detailed functional design documents
created by members within the Software Organization
Prerequisites
The Product Designer must have:
* a minimum of 1-2 years designing software-based solutions and/or
applications
* experience with web-based applications preferred
* experience with performance management applications a plus
* excellent logic skills, problem solving abilities, and detail
orientation
* strong oral and written communication skills
* a Bachelors and/or Masters degree in an analytical discipline

Product Design Manager
Job Description
As a Product Design Manager at Synygy, you will work with Software
Leadership to define the product vision. You will be responsible for
managing a team of Product Designers to gather and analyze requirements,
develop product concepts, define functionality, and with a team of UI
Designers to design products consistent with the overall vision of
Synygy's suite of Performance Management solutions.
The ideal candidate is able to think strategically, designing products
that can compete successfully in the market space.
Responsibilities
* working with Software Leadership, members of Software Marketing,
and other key stakeholders to define the product vision and
business requirements
* identifying and defining the product concepts based on the vision
and business requirements
* translating the product concepts into design entities and design flows
* assisting the UI Designers in creating UI sketches from the high
level design documents
* providing the software organization with functional specifications
Prerequisites
* a minimum of 5-6 years designing software-based solutions and/or
applications
* experience with web-based applications preferred
* experience with performance management applications a plus
* a minimum of 2-3 years as a project and/or team leader

UI Prototype Developer
Job Description
The Software UI Prototype Developer works within the Software Design
group to build prototypes of new UI components of Synygy's software
products and features.
Responsibilities include developing prototypes of standard UI components
that will be used throughout all of Synygy's products by applying
analytical and technical skills to assess the feasibility, practicality,
and usability of various user interface designs, as well as researching
state-of-the-art techniques for enhancing the user experience of
Synygy's products.
The successful candidate will have strong HTML skills possess a keen eye
for detail and aesthetics, and will have a love of iPhone and iPod type
user interfaces.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities will include:
* assessing the technical feasibility of the UI of products and
features early in the design stage
* creating proofs-of-concepts for proposed UI standards that address
the functional requirements of product and feature designs
* creating HTML prototypes of new UI components to be used
throughout all of Synygy's products
* working with Software UI Developers to understand the technical
issues associated with new features and ensuring that new features
can be implemented
* participating in the product and feature design process as needed
Prerequisites
Prototype Developers must have:
* minimum of 2 years of experience building web-based software
prototypes or applications
* hands-on expertise with HTML, CSS (Level 3), and JavaScript,
including knowledge of the DOM
* experience developing for multiple browsers
* moderate knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and jQuery
* experience with JSP, PHP, MS Excel, MS Access, or MySQL a plus
* excellent detail orientation and problem solving skills
* excellent oral and written communication skills
* the ability to work independently and yet in a team environment
