Vendio Romania needs a Rockstar System Engineer for supporting our systems and
networks.
Superficial types are excluded from the start - are you highly ethical, open
and honest ?
Then it's a must to:
have at least 4-5 years experience with day to day Linux/Unix server
administration
be high skilled with most Linux commands/utilities
be familiar with system administration tools and processes
be knowledgeable about shell/perl
be experienced in PC/server hardware
know the theory and have hands-on experience with essential networking
protocols
able to implement simple backup and restores procedures
good at reading/writing/speaking english ( we're a multinational
company )
It's desirable to:
have experience in maintaining at least 50 production servers
(prefferably LAMP stack and/or java application servers )
have hands-on experience with advanced WAN routing and switching
have hands-on experience with state and trend monitoring systems
understand the concepts and design behind high-availability systems (
clustering, load-balancing, failover etc. )
have general database ( non DBMS specific ) knowledge and basic
understanding of ANSI SQL
have technical documentation writing skills
It's big plus to:
know jboss inside out
be familiar with the development process and operations that are built
around it
have experience in maintaining MySQL? DBMS ( replication,
backup/restore )
have experience in datacenter operations
know how to work with enterprise storage solutions ( NetApp , Broccade )
be expert in self-management, communication
have epic anger management skills
be Unix/Linux fanatic, ability to cope with fellow sysadmin's sick
humor and sarcasm
