We have some open positions for "Linux QA Engineer" :
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Bitdefender NetProtect Unix team ( NP-UNIX short ) is responsible
for creating and maintaining server targeted products such as:
* Bitdefender Security for Mail Servers
* Bitdefender Security for Samba
* Rescue CD
* Bitdefender Antivirus Scanner for Unices
The latter two being aimed at the desktop users.
The main project that is rolling right now is SVE ( Security for
Virtualised Environments ) for VMware ESXi.
We are looking to expand our team with new members who will be
responsible with the QA for the current and future lines of products.
In BitDefender, QA Engineers are valued professionals performing
critical functions in the software development life cycle and have
decisive contribution on product success.
JOB RESPONSABILITIES:
As a QA Engineer your tasks will include:
· Reviewing and commenting on product specifications and designs;
· Creating test plans and test cases, including automated tests;
· Learning and evaluating compatibility with 3rd party software;
· Acting as customer advocate, providing risk analysis for the product
and ensure that all issues were addressed prior to product delivery.
REQUESTS:
Qualifications:
· Very good knowledge of Linux, FreeBSD or Solaris operating systems;
· Very good knowledge of networking concepts;
· Good knowledge of database systems;
· Good knowledge of scripting languages;
· Basic understanding of testing concepts, methodologies and processes;
· Good command of English;
· Nice to have: Virtual Environments knowledge(VMware or any other).

In short, you will have to deal with a lot of:
* Linux system administration and debugging - includes both User Space
and Kernel issues
* Various Linux distributions ( Ubuntu, Debian, RHEL, others) and platforms.
* Scripting: sh bash perl python php
* Enterprise level software and hardware - improving and upgrading
current testing environments but also assisting and proposing near
future improvements.
* VMware administration both high level, low-level and tweaking of
VMware products ( ESXi, vCenter, vShield, View, ThinApp, SRM etc )
* Other Virtualised Environments
* Both manual functional testing and automatisation of testing plans
* People - Interaction between different specialised departments is the
key to success - Collaborate with the Technical Support team in order to
internally reproduce issues and maybe, even come up with workarounds /
fixes to Client problems.
* And not last ... Bugs. Why, where, when, how and who.
