man chiar daca incerci cu ip-ul programele linux (server ftp, qmail,
sendmail) incearca un gethostbyname iar din cauza ca tu nu ai configurat
un DNS server care sa aiba o intrare pentru calculatorul tau
(corespunzatoare ip-ului de pe o interfatza externa) programul va sta un
anumit timp incercand sa rezolve adresa ta.
uita-te in /etc/hosts la tine (unde ai pus LAN la instalare) si la
calculatorul unde nu ai instalat cu LAN si vezi care e diferenta.
eu am avut o problema asemanatoare cu qmail-ul pentru ca nu aveam in
/etc/hosts intrare pentru ip-ul local de pe un eth.
