Sybase, SciTech Software, and a select team of developers are currently
working together to bring the Watcom compiler products to the Open
Source community.

During the transition from a proprietary, closed source product to a
Open Source project, the Watcom source code will not be publicly
available, but the Open Watcom team will create and distribute a binary
patch upgrade release (11.0c) on this web site. This binary patch will
be available free of charge to existing Watcom C/C++ and Fortran
customers.

After the Watcom 11.0c binary patch is released and the Watcom source
code is purged of all non-Open Source third party tools, the complete
source to the Open Watcom products will be released on the web site, so
that any developer will be able to freely use and modify the code.
