Incepand cu Windows XP, Netmeeting-ul si MSN Messenger-ul au cam fost inlocuite de Windows Messenger, care foloseste intr-adevar SIP in loc de H.323. Partile urate sunt backward-compatibility-ul care lipseste cu desavarsire si folosirea default a unui codec care ofera o calitate mai mare a vocii, deci care ocupa implicit mai multa banda ;) (Siren or smth. like that - 16kb/s in loc de g723.1 - 6.4kb/s)
