Nu am reusit sa dezactivez biosul cardului din BIOS. In schimb, am
recompilat cu 2.4.21-rc6, cu suport direct pentru Sil0680. Am patit acelasi
kernel panic. Am constatat ca orice as face eu, ide0 si 1 e luat de cardul
PCI. Atunci am activat in kernel "boot offboard chipsets first" si am vrut
sa introduc "ide=reverse" in lilo.conf, dar a dat eroare. Asa ca am editat
fstab cu hde in loc de hda, hdf in loc de hdb etc. am pus root=hde7 in loc
de hda7 si iata ca merge (v. mai jos, din dmesg). Se pare ca biosul cardului
schimba ide-urile inainte de lilo. Nu-mi place, nu e elegant, dar asta e. Am
folosit fostul config din 2.4.20 pentru kernel, si am activat doar optiunile
de mai sus. Deci trebuie sa mai intru o data si sa verific mai fin, toate
celelalte optiuni ca sa fiu sigur ca tot hardware-ul e o.k. Nu stiu cum sa
pun "etichete" la drive-uri, folosesc direct /dev/hdX in fstab. Ce trebuie
sa citesc ca sa invat sa le etichetez? Oricum, deocamdata merge. Multumesc
pentru sugestii.
