This is particularly noticeable if you increase the width or height of an applet and reload the page: the visible portion of the applet remains the same size, and the extra space is filled with a solid white background. In other browsers, you may find the changes to an image you load in an applet are not updated properly. To get around this, you can use a 'power refresh' to force the page to be completely reloaded.
