I've taught a number of introductory Linux classes. I wouldn't mind
teaching an hour or two of something for new users if it could be
scheduled for a time when I'm here in town. Good topics might be:
- Intro to the Linux command line
- Shell scripting basics
- Common utilities
I suppose there might be some value in soliticiting someone to talk about
particular distros, too, if there's enough interest. New users might
benefit from a basic understanding of the popular distros, especially the
various package management systems and GUI config tools (i.e. linuxconf
or yast2) that are specific to each.
