Richard, it sounds like all you need to do is do a complete reinstall. I had Yast2 hang on me and it worked to just start over.

Last night I pressed the Power button and the computer shut down. When I restarted LiLO took over and put me back to the beginning of the installation process with YaSt2. I am completly installed and am dissatisfied with the screen display.
the screen fonts look like crap and the icon nmes are in white which does not view well in an LCD screen and the screen resolution should be 800x600 not 600x480 like it is now.
Are these changes made in Linux or in the Acer BIOS? and how do I do it? I am engaged in my favorite pastime of RTFM hoping to get some insite.
