To print a manpage:
groff -man <man page source file> | lpr
Look for the man page source files in $MANPATH; if they are of the form <name>.gz,
use gunzip to unzip them.

Hi!
Two books I have found extremely useful are LINUX: Rute User's Tutorial and Exposition which can be found online here: (yes, it's the whole thing and legal, read the link at the top)
http://linux.tnc.edu.tw/techdoc/linux-books/rute/
It's also handy to have a good command refrence. The best one I have run across so far (aside from man) is the Linux Desk Reference (Open Source Technology Series) second edition. Got it from Borders.
I have also found it useful in some cases (look at man for tar or mkisofs) to print out the man page for the command in question, highlight the options you may actually use, and stick the paper in a binder to refer back to two months down the road when you've forgotten all about it and need to reinvent the wheel.

Are there any books that any of you would recommend for people new to
Linux?
I reciently converted a Win98 user to Redhat 8, and I'd like to find a good
book to give to help out the conversion process. (and reduce the free tech
support calls :) )
