Yea...hehe, I need to do that...switch over that is. My personal server is
a Linux box, but I'm still using Micro$oft products on my workstations. I
won't do any more upgrades to the MS products due to the cost and their
facist licensing scheme. I'm not moving past Windows 98 SE and Office 97.
>From what I have seen, I feel Windows XP is a lousy desktop operating system
as well...a real slug and the interfaces are lame. My wife has to use it at
work and she agrees. When it gets to the point where I am forced to
upgrade, I'll switch over to Linux and OpenOffice instead. My workstations
are homebuilts with 1 Gig T-Bird processors and they run Linux really well.
I built them with Linux compatible hardware in the event I am forced to
switch over sooner instead of later.

> The removable harddrive idea is pretty good.

I'm using removable drives on all the systems that comprise my personal
network. I have a few extra drives for whatever. It's great for
experimenting. I don't have to risk messing up my normal installation to
try things out. I just pop in another drive and do whatever I want without
concern. I have a spare server and when I want to change it out, I just pop
in the old drives...new server is 3 minutes. You should consider going that
route. I recommend it.

Well, thanks for letting me inject my $.02 into this thread.
