I just asked my white box vendor about their laptops (www.asimobile.com) Most of these are actually Asus laptops made for rebranding. Got this response: <snip> We haven't tested any "Centrino" models with Linux yet, but we did test the 4025/4027 and 3800C models without incident with Red Hat 8.0 and had no install issues. I'm sure Red Hat 9.0 will work with the current models and if Chris tells us which notebook model he's interested in, we could test Red Hat 9.0 for them and let them know the results. </snip> Nice to see they'll even do pre-sales testing on something unsupported like that.
