Sorry about that, I was a bit frustrated and not thinking clearly when I wrote the e-mail =]
anyhoo, I never did get courier working, nor cyrus, but I did get uw-imapd working, and actually the way it handles the mailboxes on the remote server works better for my purposes anyway.

Ok, now at the rlug meeting thursday, Sam seemed to think my problem with courier was due to authentication issues.... now I've been fscking with the config files all night, and still, it isn't working. Am I an idiot? or just missing something here?
about what you are trying to do and what is or isn't happening? I've
used courier-imap on Debian many times and it worked pretty much out of
the box.
