Chris,

I think they are aiming at the suits and not the home user. I have a
feeling that Red Hat is looking to make their money by slaughtering
Microsoft on the enterprise desktop and server.

WinXP Pro (Workstation Win32) Retail: $299
(http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=285740&pfp=BROWSE)
Win2003 Server SE Retail: $999
(http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=303208&pfp=BROWSE)

vs.

Red Hat Linux WS: $179
Red Hat Linux ES (Midrange server): $349

No support on either, except patches and updates.

Sounds like a slaughter to me...
